# AI Tools & MCP

> Connect the Osmosis docs to Codex, Claude Code, and other AI coding agents

Rollouts are usually built with an AI coding agent in the loop. This documentation site exposes machine-readable interfaces so your agent can query current Osmosis docs directly — CLI syntax, SDK abstractions, config formats — instead of relying on its training data.

## Docs MCP Server

The site hosts an MCP server with search and retrieval tools over every page. It requires no authentication:

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"},"languages":{"custom":["/languages/cli.json"]}}
https://docs.osmosis.ai/mcp
```

<CodeGroup>
  ```bash Codex theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"},"languages":{"custom":["/languages/cli.json"]}}
  codex mcp add osmosis-docs --url https://docs.osmosis.ai/mcp
  ```

  ```bash Claude Code theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"},"languages":{"custom":["/languages/cli.json"]}}
  claude mcp add --transport http osmosis-docs https://docs.osmosis.ai/mcp
  ```

  ```json Cursor theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"},"languages":{"custom":["/languages/cli.json"]}}
  {
    "mcpServers": {
      "osmosis-docs": {
        "url": "https://docs.osmosis.ai/mcp"
      }
    }
  }
  ```

  ```json OpenCode theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"},"languages":{"custom":["/languages/cli.json"]}}
  {
    "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
    "mcp": {
      "osmosis-docs": {
        "type": "remote",
        "url": "https://docs.osmosis.ai/mcp",
        "enabled": true
      }
    }
  }
  ```

  ```json VS Code theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"},"languages":{"custom":["/languages/cli.json"]}}
  {
    "servers": {
      "osmosis-docs": {
        "type": "http",
        "url": "https://docs.osmosis.ai/mcp"
      }
    }
  }
  ```
</CodeGroup>

For Cursor, add the JSON to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` (global) or `.cursor/mcp.json` (per project). For OpenCode, add it to `opencode.json` in the project root or `~/.config/opencode/opencode.json` (global). For VS Code, add it to `.vscode/mcp.json`.

<Tip>
  Every page also has a contextual menu (the dropdown next to the copy button) with one-click options to connect this MCP server to Cursor or VS Code, or to open the page in ChatGPT or Claude.
</Tip>

## Mintlify Index

This site is included in [Mintlify Index](https://www.mintlify.com/docs/search-index), a public MCP server that searches publisher-fresh documentation across the technical web. Use it when your agent needs Osmosis docs and third-party docs (e.g. Strands Agents, OpenAI Agents SDK) through a single server:

<CodeGroup>
  ```bash Codex theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"},"languages":{"custom":["/languages/cli.json"]}}
  codex mcp add mintlify-index --url https://index.mintlify.com
  ```

  ```bash Claude Code theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"},"languages":{"custom":["/languages/cli.json"]}}
  claude mcp add --transport http mintlify-index https://index.mintlify.com
  ```
</CodeGroup>

Other clients use the same configuration shape as the Docs MCP Server section above, with `https://index.mintlify.com` as the URL.

<Note>
  The Index server requires no API key. Rate limits apply per IP address: 10 requests per second and 1,000 requests per day.
</Note>

## Markdown Exports

Every page is also available as plain Markdown for direct fetching:

| Resource                      | URL                                                                                                    |

| Full site content in one file | [https://docs.osmosis.ai/llms-full.txt](https://docs.osmosis.ai/llms-full.txt) |
| Any single page as Markdown | Append `.md` to the page URL, e.g. [/cli/installation.md](https://docs.osmosis.ai/cli/installation.md) |

## Example Prompts

Once connected, your agent can answer questions like these from the live docs:

* "Search the Osmosis docs: how do I define a `Grader` with LLM-as-judge scoring?"
* "Using the Osmosis docs MCP server, write an eval config for my rollout and explain each field."
* "What does `osmosis train submit` validate during preflight?"
